Are you running 3+ UAD-1s not in Magma?

I've posted this in another thread but it wasn't getting much attention I guess, so I will start a new thread.

Anyone running 3+ UAD-1s? What sound card and what motherboard? How are 3 cards setup running? I am running 2 now in Neo2 Platinum with Fireface 800, and if I get a 3rd one, will it be a problem?

Thanks.

I run 3 UAD-1's in a Neo2 Platinum with an HDSP9652, no problems, I'm thinking about adding a fourth...

Cheers,

Hi All, my first post! :)

I run 3 UAD-1s and a FF800 (w/Lacie FW800) in an ASUS P4C800 Dlx MoBo.

UAD-1 louded at 90% or more = No problem

Now, my question is...

anyone running 4 UAD-1s not in Magma?

I was working with 4 cards in the PC until a week or so ago - I went the Magma route.. I have a suspicion the 4 card per system limit will be raised or eliminated soon.. Sheer speculation on my part, mind you.. But I had a chance to get the Magma at a price VERY much below retail, so I did.. With 4 cards in the host PC I did have 2 cards sharing and IRQ.. One with the Matrox Graphics card and one with the Firewire card.. I did have the occasional glitch or crackle or pop too but I am not 100% sure IRQ sharing was the culprit.. In any case that is solved now with the Magma.. If they would only raise the card limit now - I Have EMPTY SLOTS!! LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Hi h4nc0,

you are looking for new trouble?

What I have used in the past and surprisingly worked was:

1. Asus CUSL2-C, 2x RME HDSP Digiface/Multiface, 4x UAD-1, UAD-1 CPU 97%
2. MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum, 2x RME HDSP Digiface/Multiface, 4x UAD-1, UAD-1 CPU 97%
3. Asus A8V Deluxe, 1x RME HDSP Digiface, 4x UAD-1, UAD-1 CPU 97%
4. Asus A8V Deluxe, 13-slot Magma 2x RME HDSP Digiface/Multiface, 4x UAD-1, 1x RME Fireface 800

Using the HDSP’s with the Magma RME driver 2.94.3 very good UAD-1 performance ~97% all channels active. But using the RME Fireface 800 I have to limit bandwidth to Analog 1-8 to get UAD-1 1-4 above 90% with ASIO driver 2.53 and without FW errors.

I know. :) I've just placed an order for Flexi pack from JRRshop. I will just have to pray that 3 cards will work with Fireface.... :?

I just upgraded my system. I'm running an Intel 845GNTLR MB, a Dual 3.6 CPU, 2GB RAM, 4 UAD-1's and a FF800 with no problems. I've got 10 ins and out activated on the FF.

And, I have two PCI-E 1x slots open...as soon as/if the card limit is raised, I'm going to try two of the new cards also.
