ASTRA huge volume boost after updating to Firmware 1.1.7

Hi, since updating my ASTRA to firmware version 1.1.7 I am experiencing a huge volume boost of around 6dB when engaging the pedal in my chain. This is the case for all algorithms also the ones where I can't control the output volume (Flanger, Dharma-Trem). This is mega annoying since I want to keep my ASTRA around unity gain for all algorithms.

Anyone else experiencing this issue or was this also the case before and I just did not pay attention to it? @UniversalAudio I raised a support ticket for this #793780.

does that mean you can now feed it line levels without having the phaser be a distorted mess? That would be awesome though...

Oh man, there are so many obvious blunders regarding UAFX firmware and app updates. Those pedals are supposed to be premium products from a company, which is in the dsp business for over 20 years 😭 It sucks to be a beta tester for firmware and app updates, when all I wanted to be is a happy customer.

I basically use Astra as a dharma-trem in the effects loop of an Amplified Nation ODS. It doesn’t get a lot of use so I haven’t been irritated often enough to report it yet but it’s basically unusable because of this volume ( and of course) noise increase. Please fix this UA.

I am using buffered bypass and am not seeing this issue at all and I use Dharma and flanger a lot. Updated I tried both true-bypass and buffered-bypass and I'm not seeing a boost in volume.

Thanks, I just tried and there's no difference. I get the same volume boost with true bypass and buffered.

Did you update your astra to 1.1.7?

To be fair, I shouldn't say "unusable". If I want the trem on throughout the song or recording segment I can easily adjust volume elsewhere and get what I consider the most beautiful trem available. But if I want to cut it in mid recording or performing it can't be used. Generally I use it continuously so it's not a problem but it needs fixing. It never occurred before upgrading to 1.17. Can firmware go backwards on these pedals?

Also noticed that within the Bluetooth app the active preset shows 'edited' which indicates there is something changed! When saving the 'edited' preset, close the app, re-open the app the same 'edited' notification shows up. Its a BUG!

Volume boost on Golden and Starlight are on all algorithms.

I had problems to report a ticket so used the mail for artists to report this bug. What has changed, they have a BOT which is not helpful??

Write to the bot that you want to open a support ticket. And then you can create the ticket in the bot conversation :rolleyes:

I don't experience the volume bump on my updated Starlight.

Yes all of my pedals have been at 1.1.7 since it came out. I also do not have an issue with my starlight as well.

This only happens with using mono in/out. We have a fix for this coming very soon.

Is anyone seeing it a stereo in/out config?
