Athlon 64 X2 compatiblity

hey folks,

does anyone have any experiences with the uad-1 and athlon dual core cpus? i've heard about some problems using dual core processors with the uad-1, especially 939 boards with nforce chipset.

My system:
ASUS A8N SLI premium / ASUS 4400 X2 / 2 GB RAM
I have three PCI cards in my system: UAD, Powercore, MOTU 424.

UAD
I have some crackels from time to time.
The card is not completely unusable but there are those problems and with increasing load of the card the problems are getting worse. Somehow I can´t remember if I have had this right from beginning. It might came up after an UAD software update (3.9. ?) but I am not completely sure.

POWERCORE
I have some system booting errors and blue screens during booting and also \"not recognizing Powercore card\" errors from time to time.
Once the Powercore is running, I don´t have complaints at all with the TC card. There are no crackeles like with UAD.

I wish I could buy some of the nice newer plugs from TC and/or UAD (both have good ones) but I really refuse to do so, before those things are fixed - or I have got a new PC again.

As you can see I am not completely happy and never faced such problems with my earlier less performant AMD (2100+) system - I just can work \"somehow\" and always waiting for any improvements from UAD, TC, Steinberg, AMD-drivers, ASUS BIOS updates, WinXP serv.pack 3, whatsoever - no idea

lots of threads here discussing this, but basically there seem to be a select few configurations that UAD works with an X2. I have two MB configurations that do not work with the X2/UAD combination.

yes i see that there are much problems with dual core cpus and dsp card. maybe i should wait until some of these problems are fixed.

but dont worry about the blue screens. i am getting them too without having dual core. since the new cubase 3.1 update they are getting more and more. i dont know what its about.

Drivers in general, not necessarily the UAD ones.
Do a Google group search with the specifics of the BSODs and you'll probably find the cause very soon.
