Audio routing in Safari

For some reason I can no longer rout the audio from Safari to the virtual channels on my Apollo. I'm on Sonoma 14.2.1. I had the same issue with Chrome but now Safari shows the same behaviour. Any suggestions?

For some reason I can not influence that, see attachments.

I found I had to reconfigure the speaker settings on the Mac. Don't know why....
