Authorizing UAD-1

Hi

I've just purchased my first UAD-1. I've gone through the registration process and entered the Hardware ID online. The Serial number seemed to come up automatically also so everyhting looked fine . . .

Except, there is no button saying \"Download Software Authroizations\" as described in the online video . . . I think I need this to make the demos work?

Does anyone have any ideas. I see that UAD-1 say they are closed for holidays but I'll be most upset if I not able to get this working over the weekend!

Thanks in advance

Graham

No, for demos all you need to do is start them at the 'Authorizations' window of the UAD-1 Performance Meter.

Thanks

I tried that but when I pressed the Start Demo button for one of the plug ins a message comes up saying - \"Not Authorized - 14 days left in demo\" - what should I do?

Nothing, it just means that you don't own a full authorization, but you still have 14 days left to demo it. Every day the number shown will decrease, till your demo runs out.

what version did you buy? Project pack, flexi pack etc??

Thanks

I bought the Project Pack...

I'm pretty sure that I was not able to load up the plug in in my Cubase 4 when I tried to start the demo but will double check and try again later.

I'm definitely missing a stage in the process when you have to download an authorization file . . . I am not being shown the button to download the file in the \"My Systems\" page of the website.

Thanks for your help

If you have a Project Pak and no optional licenses, there's no need for any authorization file. The included plugs will run by default.

What could be confusing is that even the plugins you don´t own are installed (and there are a lot). You can demo them but as Akis said you have to activate the demo.
If you have not activated the demo or when the demo has ended you can not load the plugins.
I own all plugs except roland and neve so I can´t use them and I havn´t started my demo yet.
If you find the long list of plugs you can´t use frustrating, rename the dll files of the plugins you don´t own in the powerd plugins folder in the vst folder to dl (so it will read Fairchild.dl for example).
Feel free to ask!

Or just disable them in your sequencer. In Cubase/Nuendo you can do that from the 'Plug-in Information' window.

Hi Akis,
you are right, I just enjoy keeping them hidden from cubase too, makes me feel in control  .
We are having a nice talk again, just as with the registration for 2 computers. I guess we care a lot! (No sarcasm)
All the best
