Apparently the SBS PCIe to PCI Expansion won't work with the new G5, something to do with the \"Nvidia chipsets\" in the G5  ?

Come on UA, make some competition for Magma, and some extra bread

We've been asking for this for the longest time. I don't know if they have heard us all this time, but I know I've asked for UA to make their own Rack System for the UAD and now they can do us a favor and put a bridge chip in it and make a PCIe host card. The Magma and SBS racks are WAY overpriced for the actual hardware inside.

1st of all you don't need such an expensive Rackmount case. There are much cheaper alternatives and if care is taken which i'm sure we would, they'll be more than adequate. Its not like i'm gonna be putting it in the back of a freight truck. The thing stays in my Rack.

I know that a PCB and the included circuitry can't be that freakin expensive. There are plenty of ways to get some overseas manufacturer to fabricate the guts and i'm sure that if they make a big enoug order they can still get a good price.

They may not even need to do any of that if they come up with a new DSP. I wondered if they could use the Same proc IBM made for the SONY PS3 and XBOX. That thing looks to be pretty awesome and i'd bet it could be tailored to use for Digital Audio. Its supposed to have 7 Altivec cores on it and if they're all running at the same speed as the Processor that would be 3.2Ghz, i'm guessing that would be plenty of processing power in a small enough package.

Come on UA lets GO! Time to get crackin on the NEW!
