Just wanted to chime in and say I noticed this immediately when trying out the new console. For this reason, I will continue to use the legacy version by right clicking on console icon in the task tray and selecting Console(Legacy) . Windows user here as well. I read somewhere that Mac users do not have the buffer size available in console and have to change it in the DAW. I am going to send some feedback on this. 1712723795683.png

Buffer Size was always available on Windows via Console Settings on the Hardware Tab, like as bruce is showing in his screenshot
this feature is also crucial for me

Studio one is stuck at 128 buffer setting now with no way to change it
thats worse, i mean, there has to be a way to change it?

ASIO buffer size is a global setting so is set in the ASIO driver app. Maybe it was moved to the UAD control panel?
in the past with the old console, when you hit the Asio control panel via your DAW, it had straight open up console / console settings / hardware tab, there was no extra panel or setting somewhere else

Yep. Buffer settings are gone! Apart from the option disappearing from the new Console, I've tried clicking on the Control Panel in Cubase 13 and Wavelab 12 (running on Windows 11), but nothing happens. So, in addition to not being able to change the buffer size, I don't even know what my Apollo X6 is set to now? As previously said - this is a BIG issue! Does anyone know how to check buffer settings without trying to reload the old Console?

For now I don’t think there is a way.

I imagine quite a lot of music producers use Windows PC's, so getting rid of such a vital feature is hard to understand? I also imagine a big chunk of Windows users have AMD processors, but if you contact support about an issue - off the top of my head, let's say buffer settings suddenly disappearing! - they'll tell you that although AMD processors may work with UA products they aren't supported. WOW!. What gives at this company?

If I understood right, old console is being phased out soon as well. This will leave windows users with no way at all to change buffer size. Given the speed of feature roll outs and sometimes head scratching priorities, it’s terrifying to think my apollos will become next to useless stuck at 128 samples.

Hi Bruce_Sokolovic. Do you mind if I ask how you know your buffer size is 128? Is it because that's what you set it to in your last project, or does your audio interface show you? I know what the sample rate on my Apollo X6 is because it shows it to me on the front, but I have no idea what the buffer size is stuck on now. I'll probably have to try and reload the old Console, but given past experience that'll probably come with its own risks......

The DAW studio one is reporting it and locked at 128. This will be extremely problematic for mixing anything other than very basic sessions.

You’d have your Studio One playback buffer set to maximum for mixing though wouldn’t you?

Does it also have two buffer settings in Windows? One for instrument tracking (when record is engaged on VSTi) and one for playback?

Ok, thanks. : ) Now that the Control Panel to my Apollo X6 has been disabled in Cubase, I can't see anywhere else in the program where my buffer size is shown. I'll have to look in other programs. SO annoying.........
