Use any combination of cards (PCI or PCIe)
Well, if you call new something that's 6 years old...Tony Ostinato said:Unless something slipped past me the uad-1 still uses the newest dsp chip
Well, at this point I really doubt they have the knowledge and resources to do that. It's not their business...Tony Ostinato said:i'm still hopeful for some big powerful firewire based rackmount, one that could work as a standalone fx box as well.
Easiest & quickest way, yes, but I don't see how this correlates to being the \"most profitable\" way out, especially if they lose customers over it. I see it as a way to get customers a fast solution so people don't stop buying cards out of sheer lack of slots. They've clearly taken the very easiest (most profitable) way out.
This could be true, unfortunately. UA will probably never be on the level of Motorola & Analog Devices, after all (not to knock UA, those are MASSIVE companies!).Well, at this point I really doubt they have the knowledge and resources to do that. It's not their business...
But... the prices are exactly the same as the comperable PCI versions (Express/Project and Expert/Ultra). Considering that, for all intents and purposes, they're the same card, that's not a plus... in fact, it could be a minus. This is the hardware equivalent of a bugfix, while we were expecting a new product.folkfreak said:http://www.uaudio.com/
