I've demoed the 1073 and it sounds awesome! A/B'ed with a 8channel hardware version and very very comparable and useable... definitely want to buy it. I also know that UA will add discount if we buy a Neve \"pack\" (with the other plugs to come) but not forgetting those who bought early and so not worried about that anyway. BUT:
Problem 1: I have 4uad cards and use them pretty much to the max for most projects.. especially when working at 96khz. The neve's will limit my use even further as I also love the other plugs.
Problem 2: I have not had any discounts for having further cards (I have bought 6 in total) which pees me off a little (for my early loyalty) and buying a PCI-E also means I have to upgrade the computer straight away.
Problem 3: Uad-2 seems the one to wait for and so no point in buying the neve right now.
How many of you are in the same boat? Is the neve a must-have, RIGHT NOW? I really don't see the point in the neve without the extra power needed. It seems that the problem UA has is that it has released great plugs without the hardware power to support it. Ok some of you can do with less but I know there are lot of you who have 4 cards and running out.
I was half expecting UA to release the Neve with a new hardware to support them but I guess timing isn't one of UA's strengths!
