Buying the Neve? Seriously consider the Flexi-Pak

Just a thought that I wanted to share. Most people on here seem to think the 1073 plug is exceptional sounding, albeit dsp hungry. We know there are at least two more Neve plugs coming. UA typically knocks off $50 per plug, so $750 - $150 = $600

The Flexi Pak (avg street price $600-$700) gives you a $500 store credit - buy it now as a second, third or fourth card and get an additional $100 credit for a total credit of $600.

So is the real promotion - buy the Neve bundle (in advance ;) get a an additional UAD-1 card (for all of the processor hungry plug-ins) for free?

Like I said, just a thought...

Yup. I just picked up my third UAD-1 for free. Net cost of the card itself was $0. After the Neve 1073, $350 in voucher dollars left over to apply toward 1081 and the comp. 8)

I wish I had more PCI slots
I have to wait for the PCIe version for any vouchers.

For those of us that are a little unfamiliar could you please explain? Am interested in this.

Many thanks

Buy a FlexiPak for $600 and get $500 worth of vouchers. Assuming you would have bought $500 worth of plugins anyway, the net cost of the card itself is $100.

Buy a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th card in the form of a FlexiPak prior to Aug 31 2006 and get an additional $100 voucher. Again, assuming you would have spent the $100 on plugins anyway, now the net cost of the card is $0.

Please tell me where in the US you can get one for 600; 699 seems pretty standard

You won't see it advertised under $699 ... you have to call or email for a price quote.

Go to UA's website and look in Purchase>Dealer Finder.

Check the websites ... if you see \"call for price\" or \"email for price\", give it a shot and see what comes back.

I'm not thinking of the two big national chains.

The place I bought mine from was featured in the UA Webzine Dealer Focus column ... check the archives. I'm sure that there are others.
