Can`t automate UAD plugins in Pro Tools LE

I have problems automating UAD plugins in Pro Tools LE 7.1, automation works fine with any RTAS plugins but not with UAD plugins, the parameter list on the UAD plugins appears to be empty so I can`t automate anything. I`m using winXP with a 2.66 GHz Core Duo
