Can't Authorize New Plugin

Hey folks,

I bought a few new plugins last week and they authorized no problem.

I bought the updated Pultec Collection (as I had the legacy versions) and used a coupon I had for $25... so the plugin cost me about $13.

When I click on "Authorize Plugins" on the control panel, it takes me to the uad website and an authorization file starts downloading. That's unusual as it normally updates automatically. I tried opening it (on Windows 10) with all the uad.exe programs...but no dice.

It's listed in my UAD account on the website (Pultec Passive EQ collection)
It's listed in my native collection

It's not authorized on my UAD-Quad. It is listed in the plug in list... but still says start demo next to it.

Why won't the card just authorize automatically as usual as opposed to going directly to the website? Which, I am logged in on.

I tried uninstalling the drivers, but still no success. Thoughts?

That shouldn't happen.

I would shut down everything and reboot, then try again.

Did you re-install the drivers?

whats your UAD Software Version?

back in the days, it was possible to do offline authorisation, an .uad2 file was downloaded
whats the filetype you have gotten?

if thats an auth.uad2 file, you try to can drag & drop that into your UAD Control Panel into the window where the "authorize Plugins" Button is.
well, it used to work like that years ago,

in the meantime, you can also install UA Connect enjoy the native UADx version of the Pulteq Collection

I have the latest 11.0.1. I tried the drag and drop as you suggested... it says the plugins have been updated and to restart. When I restarted, this plugin is still not authorized.... though all of my other plugins are.

This seems like a problem on UA end. The fact that the auth button on the panel takes me right to the website right after clicking it is odd. I opened a ticket. Hopefully it will get straightened out.

Just tried loading it natively and it doesn't authorize either. It's in the ilok hooked up to my account. I downloaded it and moved it to the Pro Tools plugin folder. My Sound City plugin works fine... but not this.

I'm having this issue as well. Bought a new twin x after my old one's mic pres stopped working out of nowhere during a session. Now with the new one my plugins from my previous apollo wont authorize, even though they're all registered under the same system. Everytime I try to click the authorize button it brings me to the website and downloads an empty auth.uad2 file. when I click it it gives me an error message and says try again later. This process happened on both my mac and windows machine. I don't know what to do about this. Screenshot 2024-01-09 at 10.31.10 AM.png

Having the same issue... this seems rife at the moment. Quite frustrating when I've got projects on the go with plugins that I now have to use in 'Demo' mode... however they still work (and the new ones included with my x 4) when I plug my old Twin Duo back in, so it's like none of the Analog Classics bundle or whatever it's called won't authorise for the new Apollo (even though surely they should just have been authorized along with the added plugins?). It's very odd.

I put in a request, my request number is #801049. My experience with Apollo has been seriously strange in the past two days. Hopefully I can get this fixed so I can continue doing sessions.

Weirdly the auth file did work correctly when I ran a plugin update on the Apollo Twin, so in my case it's just the x 4 having the issue... perhaps a problem with the X series and that auth file being compatible right now?

this is happening here too, could this be due to latest hotfix update?

Also once I get the chat log in my email is that what I'm supposed to be replying to? Screenshot 2024-01-09 at 12.13.03 PM.png

I thought about that too... went back down to 10.2.5 and it still gave me the issue
Have you initiated a hardware transfer recently? I do think the .uad2 is now part of the process, and sure enough I did one recently 🧐

[or rather, in your case, did you complete registration of the device i.e does it appear in your account]

A month and some change ago, yea. Was trading a MKII model for a X Quad at Guitar Center
this smells like backend screw up. I bet it all will start magically working again in a few days…… until then……

… interestingly, my ‘Arrow’ downloads a human readable ‘.uad’ file that references Windows registry entries (I’m on a Mac).
