Can't REC Enable multiple tracks with SSL UF1

I'm using LUNA 1.5.1 and SSL360 1.6.13 with an SSL UF1 control surface. When I press the REC softkey it will only enable the 1st track in my session, regardless of the track I have selected in the UF1. Can the SSL UF1 be configured in LUNA to rec enable any (and multiple) selected track(s)? I also noticed that any track selected in the UF1 will automatically become record enabled once the record (transport) button is pressed, even if that track was not record enabled prior to pressing record. Is this behavior "normal"?

Hey there!

I have the UF1 and this confused the heck out of me as well at first, but I can explain what’s happening here.

basically, the UF1 acts like an 8 fader control surface, That’s why you can adjust the volumes from the pots as well as pan, and press the 5 - 8 key to see all the tracks in the first bank of 8.

In Luna, the record soft key works on channel 1 of a bank of 8 (try banking a full 8 and you’ll see you can now record arm a channel 8 tracks down the line).

It actually means that soft key as it is setup by default is fairly useless (imagine it as the record buttons on the UF8, except you only have the button for the first channel). A recent UF1 update allows the channel select encoder to bank 1 track at a time, but in a different way than this particular soft key setup will work in.

the best thing to do is reconfigure that record soft key to be custom keyboard macro ’shift r’ so it just simply record arms the track that is selected, which won’t work if you use the “DAW Command“ record arm.

it also means the light doesn’t stay red, which is a little bit of a shame, but that’s the way things are setup right now.

Thank you for that great explanation A.C.! I'll reconfigure that record softkey this evening. Thanks again!
