Well, all the issues I thought were Logic 7, seem to be UAD-1 related instead. I have a small 16 track project that had a Cambridge EQ on each track and 4 Dreamverbs on a buss each.
I have three UAD-1 cards in a G4 Dual Processor 1.25mhz mirror door (Firewire800) Mac with 2 gigs of ram.
I have about a dozen different Logic insert effects (the audio process metter in Logic is about 20%) in the tune and my UAD-1 meter is showing about 30% and 18%.
When I try to record a guitar track, I get crackles and pops through the tune.
I saved the tune with a different name and deleted all the UAD-1 plugs (replaced with Logic equivalents).
No pops, clicks or noise at all!
I have my cards in the top three slots (the fourth slot, next to the AGP Video card is open).
Could any UAD tech recommend a slot configuration? I tried the MIN_GNT settings 64,128,48 nothing seems to make a difference. Even when I lower my audio buffers, I still get pops and clicks, plus the latency is horrible.

Rich

Well,
It seem to be the UAD-1 reverbs. When I use the Logic Reverbs (even Space Designer) in lieu of the Dream Verbs and Real Verb Pros, I get no crackles. I can leave all the UAD-1 Cambridge EQs inserted (on all tracks) with no crackles.
I even put my DIGI96 back into the computer to make sure it wasn't a MOTU thing. Still pops and click when recording (using the RME) until I remove the UAD-1 Reverbs.
Probably the ugly delay compensation issue (or part of it).
Regards,
Rich
