Clicks, Pops and glitches

Hi,

i've just bought the UAD1 but have problems with clicks, pops and glitches! As soon as i load any UAD-Plugin the clicks appear.

When i switch off the plugins, everything works fine.

Heres my system:

Cubase 3.0 SX
MSI 865PE NEO3-FS (SKT775 chipset)
Fireface 800 (connected via Firewire PCI controller)
Intel Pentium 4 3 Ghz 800 Mhz FSB
2048 GB Kingston DDR (400 Mhz)

Does anyone have (had) the same problems?
What can i do to stop this clicks?

Greetings

Daniel

Adding to my post

Hi,

here are some more informations to my previous post:

This morning i have installed the latest drivers and firmware update of my fireface and tested several ASIO Buffer settings and PCI latency settings (with pci latency tool 3.0) but no success.
Still the same problems with clicks and pops.

But i think the problem must depend on the UAD, because when i switch off all UAD Plugins the clicks and pops dissappear!

Does anybody have any idea what to do to get rid of this annoying noise?
Any settings i can test in Cubase, RME Fireface or UAD?

I have now the following PCI Latency settings:

Firewire Card (with Fireface connected): 248
UAD:64

ASIO Buffer:
Fireface:1024 (highest possible setting, i have tested all other settings also...)

Please help me!!
Any idea would be appreciated!

Thanx and greetings

Daniel

have you tried putting the UAD in another card slot? Have you checked to see if the UAD card is sharing IRQs with something mission critical? Do you have a raid card or onboard raid controller? have you updated the bios in your mother board to the latest available?

Re:

Hi,

i have tested the UAD in three available PCI-Slots all with the same results....

But yes, i have a raid controller (PCI Card). Can this be the cause of the clicks? If yes, what can i do, because i need the controller as much as the UAD? Is there something to change in the raid-settings?

By the way:
I have also tested several pci latency and ASIO Buffer settings - without success...

Greetings

Daniel

It is very likely that the raid card is reserving bandwidth for itself. I had this same issue when I first set up my DAW. My Raid and MOTU 424 just could not peacefully coexsist! I just abandoned the raid. But I understand that there is a way to dial back how much band width is reserved for your raid card I just don't know how it is done. but i'd look into that!
