Confused about Spark with all this stuff going native..... (nevermind, either I did something wrong when searching or it was a glitch in the matrix)

I've noticed a TON of plugs I wanted ported are now that way (er, so the site says) but not that many of the new ones are part of spark yet. Before I try/buy them, I'm afraid that I'll buy them and then they'll go to spark. It's not overly concerning, but it leaves me a little confused as I had this dippy notion that native meant Spark.

A ton? I’m pretty sure every native plugin is already park of Spark.

Literally every new plugins are a part of spark except C Suite Limiter. UA is not giving up their DSP platform (and indeed, DSP is stable and reliable) but they also wanna expand their user base.

To be honest…I’d suggest UA make better driver for the windows user, and exclusive USB Apollo for windows, this would help them even further…

The ‘native’ plugins are hosted by your computer. They can be used during tracking but the round trip latency might be noticeable even at your lowest buffer settings when compared to the DSP hosted UAD2 plugins. That would make the UAD2 plugins more valuable for tracking. Also the UAD2 versions will allow you to lighten the load on your computer to free up processing power for VSTi’s and native only effects plugins.

Note that none of the native plugin versions are Unison enabled. Whereas many of the UAD2 plugins have Unison capability.

Think of the two types of plugins as complementary. The Apollo DSP supplements your computer’s capability when using UAD2 plugins, and vice versa when you use a native version. The good news is that you get the native versions free when you buy the UAD2 version of the plugin.

As far as trying the demo plugins, you only need to demo the UAD2 version since the two plugin versions are the same.

Ok, it was a glitch in the matrix.......

Yesterday, virtually all the plugs were listed as native. Today, they are not. Maybe I did something wrong?

Sorry to have bothered.......
