CPU meter goes to MAX when driving UAD card hard

When pushing my 2 UAD-1e cards to about 80 % my CPU meter in Cubase SX3 or Cubase4 just goes to MAX - after that I cannot do anything but releasing some plugins from the UAD cards to help minimise my CPU meter a bit.

- one audiotrack with 8 Helios and one audiotrack with one Helio
- CPU meter goes from 5% to 100%

UA - Can you please help ??

Mac dual 2.0 with 8 GB RAM

I had the same problem with two PCI cards and Logic.

Somebody told me, that the pci buss has an overload, which then effects the cpu. That sounds like a reason to me...but on the other hand, if the PCI buss has an overload at 80% (in my case 87%) how could I use the whole power of my UADs ???? :eek:
