Differences in Q on Parametric EQ's

Hello:

Just listening to Dave Moulton's Audio Lectures and he refers to his bandwidth settings as 1/3 octave, 1/2 octave, 1 or 2 octave Q settings.

I've noticed that the Q is different on several of my EQ plug ins..

Cambridge goes from .25 to 16, with very precise decimals in between.

Waves Q4 from .5 to 100

Waves REQ from .26 to 6.50

Logic Fat EQ from .10 to 10

How do I determine what is a 1/3 octave or 1/2 octave or 2 octaves with all these different gradiations on the EQ's?

Thanks
Scott
