DM-1 - Delay too long in 4.0

Hi there,

Just noticed this problem that I have not experienced before.

I create an FX channel (in Cubase SX 3.1) with the DM-1 plug. Then I send a percussive sound to this channel. At first everything seems fine, but after a while (not sure exactly when it starts), there is like an additional 200 ms added to the delay time. Even on the shortest setting, it sound like a slap-back echo.

The length does not seem to be related to the buffer size. However, I have noticed (in the same project) that recording does not line up correctly even though PDC is turned on.

I noticed in the \"Plug-in Information\", that all UAD plug-ins have zero delay! Could this be right? If that is what the plug-ins really report, that would explain things...

I don't know if this is related but it eats up a ton of card memory. Does anyone remember if it was this bad before?

Looks like I have some problems with my soundcard that could be related, so I have to sort that out first.

What plug-in delay do you guys get in your hosts for the UAD stuff.

I'm pretty sure it was. I only tried them quickly when I first got my card and thinking how mad it was that a couple or three delays would max out a £600 DSP card!!! I stopped using them (DM-1 etc) because of the no tempo sync but now I find the standard (not the L) version to be great. Memory usage is the same, I think.

I'm n V2.2 still and if I remember right it says 0 delay but it just works fine with auto compensate.

Check it out with Battery or any other sampler and load a click into it on a few channels (to different outputs) and record a 4/4 pattern on each sound and start loading PPI's onto the different outputs. I didn't have to set or adjust anything and it just worked.

Very well too I might add.

i did have one song come up where the dm-1l was taking up too much ram on one card, seemed like something different in the dynamic allocation.

Just to clarify, my system is (and always has been) working correctly. I recorded the click-track a few times with and without UAD plug-ins on the already recorded tracks. Works perfectly!

The problem with the delay time was due to me having turned down the modulation freq instead of the width.
