Do I need ANY of these Plugins?

GAS is striking again especially with the custom10 bundle offer and I wonder if I should get it but then I also already have many plugins. Below are some of the ones I shortlisted

- VariMu
- Neve Dynamics Collection
- Hittsville EQ
- Manley Massive Passive
- Voxbox
- Lexicon 224
- Spitfire Strings
- Eden Bass
- LA3A

Anything else I should be looking at?

What I already have from UAD (of course there are others from waves, plugin alliance, t-racks etc as well):

The Lexicon 224 is great, and I use it a lot more than I use the 480. Just a dash of one of its hall presets sounds lovely on piano. I also really like the Eden bass sim, and (at least until ToneX came along) it was my go to for a fat, round, 'expensive-sounding' timbre. I've liked the Voxbox when I've used it, but I'm just a hobbyist trying to make my weedy little voice sound passable.

The wrinkle there is that all of these have been on huge sales recently!

Voxbox, Massive Passive, and Lexi.

Incidentally, those are also native UADx, so you'll get even more mileage out of them.

If you like the Fairchild, you'll find that Vari-Mu is the perfect alternative when the Fairchild is adding too much character.
- Neve Dynamics Collection
Embarrassed to say that I'm not using this nearly as much as I thought I would. Too much good stuff.
- Hittsville EQ
Same as with the Neve Dynamics Collection. I already have more than enough EQ's and channel strips, as do you.
- Manley Massive Passive
As great for channels as it is for masters
- Voxbox
On top of being a great channel strip, the EQ section is great on its own.
- Lexicon 224
Still my #1 after all these years. I own a real one, too.
- Spitfire Strings
Never used it
- Eden Bass
Many better alternatives out there
- LA3A
Mediocre

any others that you would recommend to get me to 10? At this point it’s 10 or nothing 😀

I would absolutely go with the ones Matt mentioned.

In addition, I use the LA3A all the time on things that need an opto feel but don't need the character from the LA2A's make up channel. I think the UAD LA3A is a massive sleeper plugin because I think it's considered 'old' ... but a bit like the 33609 it sounds fantastic to me compared to the LA3A I used to own in hardware form.

Alright, so I have these confirmed - Voxbox, Massive Passive, Lexicon 224, LA3A. Hittsville EQ

That’s 5 out of 10. Need 5 more to complete the bundle.

Noticed you don't have the BX-20. It's one of my absolute favourites and I have all the UAD verbs other than Realverb.

If they're eligible, I'd absolutely add the Waterfall organ and Electra 88. I've been collecting B3 and Rhodes VIs for years, but the UAD versions of these are the ones I like best. I get absolutely lost playing Electra 88.

Edited to add: The Korg delay is one I picked up in a recent sale, and I like that better than any of my other delay options!

Distressor is my desert island compressor, and it also has a UADx version. I always use Manley Massive Passive on mix bus, and it has a UADx version. SSL Bus Compressor does not have a UADx version, but I keep coming back to it after trying others.

you definitely need more EQ than pultec & onboard. UAD has many great EQs. massive passive is only one of them. you maybe want to think about a neve 1084 or 1073, because you have the preamp and the EQ then.

Already have the 1084

Buy them all, it's the only way to be sure.

I love the LA3A, perfect for bass and guitar. That Eden is a leftover from Softube here, it's Sonoma compatible so I use it right now (I have nothing against Rosetta, but since that one sounds terrific, I use it right now)

Hitsville EQ

I am coming from a bit different perspective here. I am from the 60's and do 60's and 70's covers for the most part. I have found Hitsville EQ to be an absolute game changer. It is not for everyone/everything. It does "color" the sound. But exactly like I want it to. Indispensable for my needs...

i demo’d the Hittsville Master EQ on the mix bus recently and really liked what it did. I potentially could have achieved the same frequency adjustments with any EQ but i think it’s that extra color it added that brought the mix together. I should add that to the list.

I'd add the AMS DMX 15-80 for delay. Trident is great for EQ on guitars

MDW 3 and 5 EQs
DMX delay
BX 20 reverb
*If you play guitar at all, any one the Friedman amps.

dont forget about the API 500 series.
i hate to like it so much, but the 560 is one of my main go-to eqs
It's great, but lately, I'm not using as much EQ, I'm really concentrating on getting the "source" correct in the first place. It's a trip......
