Dual 2Ghz G5 PCI-X wich slot?

Which slot is best for a single UAD-1 on a Dual 2Ghz G5 PCI-X with eight Ram slots?

Also, in Logic Pro 7.1.1 is there a way to not have the effects cut out as soon as you hit stop? In Cubase SX I used to hit stop to listen to the reverb on drums for example.

I have had good success with cards in slot 2 and slot 3.

The problem is that the effects cut off as soon as I hit stop. Reverb for example will not continue unless the song is playing.

Any ideas? Is this a UAD-1 / PCI-X thing or is it a Logic Pro setting?
