Enjoying the silence of not hearing people screaming for a Windows version of LUNA!

I hope, and assume that Matt is adding a “Luna Windows“ sub forum.

I’m bracing for all the ways it’s not working with certain hardware combos or is lacking features.
This is what I worry about. It seems clear (to me at least) that developing the windows version is why we haven’t seen many new features in Luna for a while now. Now it seems likely they will be spending time on fixing bugs and dealing with windows-specific issues for Luna, delaying features further. We’ll see.

I am fully in tune with what you say. I have currently returned to Logic Pro 11, while appreciating what UAD is doing with Luna, but unfortunately there are still functions that I hoped would arrive soon, including VCA faders , Multi Out of the virtual instrument and a I/O plugin.

I am spending all my time in Logic these days. I don't want that to sound like a negative for Luna, I still like it and know it will get there someday. It's just that the missing features made me look elsewhere and now I've learned some other things that make me less enthusiastic about Luna (better comping, ARA support, and auto-tempo is fantastic). OTOH, I thought multi-out VSTs was going to be a big deal for me when I got my e-drum kit, but turns out I like the ease of just using the mixer in that plugin because it sounds great on its own. So unfortunately my wishlist for Luna went from 1 thing (hardware inserts) to 4: hardware inserts, ARA, better comping, and auto-tempo. I also discovered that I kind of like using Console for input/cue management, but I know I can use Console tracking mode in Luna so that's not a big deal, just that not having to use Console isn't a killer feature to me after all.

In some cases I happen to use Protools during the mixing phase, even if it happens more and more rarely.
From a creative point of view, Logic remains my lifeline and in a short time I manage to get what I have in mind and even more so now with version 11, now that some functions in Luna are missing as I specified in the previous post after 3 years of uses are such that I decide to use it only in some cases during the mixing phase, exporting stem from logic to obtain the sound of the LUNA console via the API extensions /summing Neve etc etc.

I remain optimistic that Luna will one day have these functions but if they delay development too much, many users will end up switching to or continuing to use the usual DAWs such as: Logic Pro, Protools, Studio One, Ableton etc etc,

As many of us know, abandoning a DAW that you have used professionally for many years and you know it inside out is not easy...
Many times we musicians look for something new to have further stimuli that fuel our creativity and Luna at least in my case is now only during the mixing phase but I would like from UAD those 3/4 things that I miss and would help me decide to take the final leap...

Similar experience here. Still use LUNA for tracking, just really like the workflow and any outboard used for tracking is done on the way in so no matter. Still do some mixing in LUNA, like others above the API console, tape, and summing are really nice, but primarily export to PT for all the added capabilities. Most of my recent work is sound design so that has made video support necessary. I tried a few of the video plugins in LUNA and they're just okay, makes for a more complicated workflow. Just easier to import and bounce the video with soundtrack in PT. My shortlist for LUNA would be:
- Video support, but could get by with MTC/SMPTE synch
- Delay comp with Hardware inserts
- I can deal with current comping workflow, but needs to maintain providence/pedigree via color scheme or Vx/Tx labeling
- Panning on click to cue
- File management. I like the bookmarks/versions, but a rename session function would be handy.
- AAF could use some improvement as well, rather than bounce individual tracks. Not sure AAF is really any better in other DAWs.

And...yes I have sent feedback via the LUNA feedback on all of these.
