expand inputs to a chained thunderbolt apollos by connecting an adat expantion

Hi guys
I have a home studio with various synthesizers and drum machines, I need more inputs.
right now, I have two Apollo silverface connected via thunderbolt & I want to expand the number of inputs.
Can I connect another 8-channel adat extpantion to each of the Apollo's ? will it work ?
Currently I also have an Apogee AD8000 that I want to connect to one of the two via adat.

Sure, you can connect that great old beast to either of the Apollos. Assuming you have the ADAT Ambus card?

Clocking can be handled by Apollo or the Apogee. If the latter, both Apollos will sync to it if you set your clock source to ADAT in Console.
