Extra DSP Cards?

I'm finally about to pull the trigger on some UAD plugs... a discontinued pack because it hase the plugs I'm looking for... the Studio Pak. A few questions:

First, any warning for purchasing a discontinued pack? I'm assuming everything is the same as current packs except it provides a different set of plugins.

Secondly, it seems many here are using more than one DSP card. I want to start with 2 but I'm not sure how to get additional cards without purchasing another set of plugins. How and where can I find DSP cards without plugs?

Lastly, what is the \"PCI\" in the titles for the most recent packs? When I first looked into UAD plugs, the older versions didn't have that, and the Studio Pak I'm looking at doesn't have that. As you can see in my sig, I'm still on a Mac G4 with Pro Tools 7. Are the PCI packs something I need, or are those for the newer G5s?

Or does anyone recommend another way to get these plugs: 1176LN, Cambridge EQ, DreamVerb, Fairchild 670, LA-2A, Pultec EQP-1A and RealVerb Pro? The Studio Pak is going to run me $750.

One more thing. Anyone having good experiences with UAD, Pro Tools 7 and a G4?

Being discontinued should not be an issue.
For a second card you would want to purchase a Project Pak (unless that too has changed). Its the most stripped down offering available.
You want PCI cards. Not PCIe. The PCI cards will work better in your compiter that they will in most G5s, mine included.
