finally getting around to using uad-1

Hi All,

i have my uad-1 for several years now, finally getting around to using audio again. The only plugins I have purchased back in the day are dreamverb and cambridge.

I see the $50 coupon and was thinking of getting one of the roland 99$ or the 79$ pultec. Is the pulteq 79$ for a reason? The fairchild seems nice too.

Any insight on the roland plugins or the pulteq? I checked out the reviews on the uaudio site and they all seem to get 4-5 stars.

I think the Pultec is only inexpensive because it was one of the original plugins when the card came out. Now that the UAD card is more established and has a more intense development cycle, they charge more for the newer plugins. Don't be fooled by the price; the Pultec is excellent, as is the Fairchild.

The Pultec is a Must Have.

The Roland/Boss Effects like the DimensionD are also fine, but I wouldn´t reach for them in the beginning.

The 88RS Channelstrip is fantastic for the \"Wash & Go\" approach, while performing at impressively low DSP load.

From the moderately priced Plug Ins I´d give the Helios EQ a chance. Very nice, easy and fun to work with.

Thanks for the insight. I guess for $29, the pulteq is a no brainer.

Maybe more coupons will come back for christmas
