As many of you have experienced, the forum search function is something of a disaster. However, there is a workaround:

Here's a way to do it...

Go HERE and copy the following into the DOMAIN field:
www.chrismilne.com/uadforums

now you can search the entire forum... enjoy! :)

This google forum search seems to have some <ahem> problems.

I typed in several searches that I -know- are there and it sure ain't finding the stuff.

Event ASP Monitor

...for example. I've posted stuff using those three words at -least- 4 times.

Further, several posts it -did- find seem to be missing from the forum. (Great that Google caches everything.... or... maybe not depending on how paranoid I feel on a given day.)

Wassup?

Hey JC,

Sorry, it's been a bit hectic here recently. Missing posts might have been deleted, although I've stopped deleting (useful) threads after posting the Google link. Re: the Google search not working well, I'll have to look into it; not sure I can do anything about it, though.

Cheers,

Hello back,

It seems to -me- that a lot of threads simply aren't -there-. I went to look up stuff about various monitors people were interested in and that's how I first noticed it. Then I started searching on 'Suntower' and only got a few hits which simply ain't possible.

I'm not trying to make a big deal out of this, but I guess I look at this as a 'knowledge storehouse' and I kinda/sorta -expect- to be able to refer back to it a few months or years later.

Thanks for looking into it!

---JC

If I remember correctly, I had deleted some topics on monitors before the Google idea, trying to keep as many UAD-1 related topics in the database as possible. Sorry, I had to make a choice.

let me know...but it seems searches work better on this new ISP...i searched for \"guitar\" and got 250 hits in 5-10 seconds.

I think PHPBB in general has poor searching...if you go to their own forum the searches rarely work :-(

Yes, it does seem to work a lot better now. I did a search of Space Echo and in 5-10 seconds I had 189 matches. When I searched for Neve a got 75 matches, in about the same amount of time. I could not do any searches before, using the previous ISP. I always got the 30 second time out error message.
