Free \"clone\" of Waves L1

Just came across this:

http://www.dontcrack.com/freeware/downl ... 1-Limiter/

It's a freeware \"clone\" of the Waves L1 Limiter written by a guy called George Yohng (developer for 4Front). He claims the output is identical to L1's. I don't own L1 (or any Waves stuff) so it'd be nice if someone who does have L1 would give this a test run. It's available as Windows VST or Mac VST.

Kind regards.

Yeah, Ive been using this for quite a while on the occasional track that needs to not go over... Works fine, and it does sound pretty much the same as the original L1. I wouldn't use it for mastering, just as I would not use the L1. ;)

For what it's worth, Betabugs (cool wierd free plugins) made a fancy GUI for it if you would prefer to see something other than the standard VST thing. (Which in this case is kinda not needed, but still)

Thanks, Eddie and cAPSLOCK. I installed this and I like the sound. On the Mac it uses the standard VST GUI - the knobs are painful to manipulate. Unfortunately, the BetaBugs cover version is Windows VST only, no fancy GUI available for Mac (yet).

Thanks again, guys.

Kind regards.
