Freezing Tracks (Delay, Timing, Latency)

Hi All
So at the moment I'm stuck with a M1 Mac Mini. I bought it when they first came out and I didn't realise how slow they are.
Now, towards the end of the mix I'm forced to start freezing tracks as the CPU usage on the session hits 100% and I start to get strange artifacts and issues with Luna. Not a problem I had the same issue in Logic and Pro Tools before that.

Anyway, Towards the end of the track I start freezing certain tracks for instance on this current mix there are a number of Synths using Kontakt and so I figured that I would freeze these tracks in place as currently I'm not working on them and it should free up a chunk of CPU in playback.

The tracks are selected, Freeze is selected, The render window pops up and renders and once they are frozen obviously you listen back to the tracks...
Clearly they are out of time following the freeze.
Unfreeze them and they are immediately back in time.
Freeze them again and they are out of time....

Whats going on here? In Pro Tools I simply selected the tracks, Selected Freeze and everything was fine no further action is required.
At the moment I'm struggling a little as I've got no CPU left for this session and I cant freeze any of the tracks (Or they fall out of time!)

I hope there is an easy answer here as I noticed the same last night with some drums using 2048 buffer. I put Sound City on my room mics and it sounded great. Froze the rooms and suddenly I've got a very short and unnatural sounding slap on my room mics. I ended up freezing all the drum tracks to resolve it which is hyper time consuming because I've noticed Luna really doesn't like you to freeze multiple tracks at once.

Be sure to get tickets open with Support, they may want your session to investigate.

I'll look into this now. Its essential for us as the studio is stuck with an M1 for the moment until we can get some more funding and hopefully invest in a Mac Studio and sticking almost entirely with the Integrated summing, consoles, tapes etc I'm running like 98% CPU towards the very end of the mix.

fwiw: I'm on a Mac M1 Studio. I can't get by without DSP satellites, freezing or not. But I often use a number of heavy CPU native plugins and VI's, so your mileage may vary...

I think if I'm only just hitting the CPU ceiling with the M1 (I'm basically using about 110% of what its capable of)
We should be fine with a Mac Studio but by the time I can afford one or the funding is there it wont be an M1 (It'll be the next gen)
Hopefully at the same time we'll purchase some Octocore Interfaces (like the X16) but if not I'll have to keep all the plugins for mixing and use some second hand octo satellites like yourself just to life some pressure off the CPU... But we will see!

The mixes I work on are not massive truthfully, Rock Bands recording two tracks in two days dont really allow for alot of time or layers but as the studio progresses I'm hoping for bands that have the budget to indulge in their work a little more!

Same here. Superior Drummer 3 and a parallel room bus (Sound City) using 2048 buffer setting. I froze the room and I've got those slap on room track. I tried froze the drums and room at the same time and the render time was a lot higher. I ended up printing the raw SD3 track (without plugins) and the room track (processed) with better result in tone and render load.
