Hi all!
It's been a while as I've been \"making do\" but finally my blood pressure can't stand it and I have to get a G5.Having gleaned a lot of useful info from the resident experts here about the \"AMD\" pci-x controller issues I've been trying to track down the Dual 2ghz pci G5 but to no avail...I can only source the Dual 2.7 AMD model.
As I have one UAD card that I love I was wondering if using another on a seperate buss would get around the \"Pci headroom\" issues where there is no advantage to a second card if the buss bandwidth is clogged up by maxing out just one card.
I don't plan to use any other pci devices as especially for mixing in the box firewire has served me well enough so both of the busses would only have to cope with a single UAD1.
I'd be running Logic 7,expecting up to 20 odd ESX instruments and a few soft synths but almost always in excess of 24 audio tracks @ 24bit 44.1khz often with a fair amount of editing.
Anyways any input would be appreciated
All the best
