G5 QUAD CORE CRASHING OSX/FAN PROBLEMS WHEN ASLEEP

I read the previous post about several people having fan issues when sleeping the G5 and G4 - I also have the same problem, but the UAD-1 PCIe card is constantly crashing OSX. When I leave the computer unattended for 10-15 minutes, half the time when I come back the \"need to restart computer\" screen is on, along with all of the fans which kick on when I sleep the computer with the card installed. Also, several times when running Nuendo 3 (my host application) the restart screen comes on. After dealing with Apple and testing out all 3 available pcie slots, the problem persists and was solved when I removed the UAD card. There is obviously either a hardware or software incompatibility here. Let me know if others have the same issue - a few of my main specs are
Quad core G5 with 4.5 gigs RAM, Nuendo 3, RME Fireface 800.

Hi Scott,
Deep sleep is not supported on the G5s, unfortunately unloading the driver will not allow these machines to deep sleep with the card installed (you can have your monitor \"go to sleep\", just not the system itself).

You can do this by setting a separate sleep time for the display (in Energy Saver settings of System Preference), but set the computer sleep time to \"Never\".

As far as the crashing while under normal use, try uninstalling the UAD-1 software, but leaving the card itself installed. This will at least let us know if there is some definite hardware incompatibility (although we have no known issues with the quad-core machines).

The last thing to try would be to remove at least 512MB of RAM (to bring to you 4GB) and see if the problem persists. Technically the OS should not allocate an 64bit memory addresses to the UAD-1 card, but with +4GB of RAM it could in theory do that.

I would suggest trying each of these things separately so you can easily tell which step \"fixes\" the problem. Please let me know what you find. Thanks Scott.
