Galaxy Tap Tempo Troubles

I cannot seem to get the tap tempo to work in sync with music with the UAFX Galaxy. I've tried pressing on the beat, releasing on the beat, quick press, press-hold-release, it just always ends up either ahead or behind. I don't have this trouble with the Starlight which is on my pedalboard right next to it. I realise it takes a while for the tape speed to reach the final tempo once it changes, so I wait. But still, this is driving me crazy, to the point where I am considering selling on the Galaxy. Which would be a shame since I think it has an amazing sound and I think the feedback hold button is really nicely tuned.

Any tips, people?

I think it emulates the instability of tape speed too.
Personaly I'm okay with the tempo when I tap it. It's closed to the tempo, not perfect, but that's the way I like it. For perfect sync, you may prefer digital delay instead.

I feel the same way. It’s especially noticeable when you have it on the 3rd tape head (quarter note). I’m done trying to figure it out I’m just gonna replace it with a amplitube x-time it has a really nice sounding space echo preset on it. Its has a lot of different delay types too.
