I have the nForce3 chipset, X2 CPU and 4 UAD's, but I use them in a Magma chassis (you can find a cheap one on ebay. Another solution would be to try the intfltr utility (not sure about the exact name) by Microsoft and see if it works for you. Do a search in the forum and you should find a few topics about it.

THANKS Akis, i read it ALL, so what did i got from all this reading:

*better proformece on my cpu from the MS hotfix and AMD optimaizer
*minimum clicks and pops (from HARD ones that cuse pitch on the sound)

but i'm still having click and pops every 5 sec's :( (not much but still there)

maybe can somone that have AMD 2X and RME (hdsp) can tell me his slots order?? (this would probbly save some time for other ppl that having problems with the slots :) )

here is mine for now:
----------------------
-AGP redon9200
-
-
- UAD
-
- RME HDSP/9632
----------------------

More like there is no magic bullet for your MB choice. As clearly stated on the UA website (UAD-1 technical issues) your MB is not a good candidate for the UAD-1. You can either keep trying to put a square peg in a round hole and go crazy or:

1) Get a Magma expansion chassis
2) Try the UAD-1e instead (PCIe) if your MB has PCIe slots
3) Dump that MB (they are a dime a dozen) and get a UAD-1 compatible one. I have an ASUS P5B-E MB. One of the best MB's you can get for a DAW these days. I have (4) UAD-1 cards with a e6300 Core 2 Duo and no problems whatsoever. Sonic nirvana!
4) Sell the UAD-1 card and just go native and be done with it!

Those are your choices.

That is the 64 dollar question! It really depends on your current system specs (if you are going to simply do a MB swap) and what your needs are.
You may want to start a new thread asking for advice on a new UAD-1 compatible MB and list your criteria (budget, number of expansion slots, AGP or PCIe video, CPU, etc....).

After doing some research and shopping around I built a new DAW recently, E6300 Core 2 Duo/ASUS P5B-E and (4) UAD-1 cards all in the same box! Now a have a blazingly fast DAW and all the DSP I will ever need and it all works perfectly. Sometimes I have to pinch myself because this is the kind of DAW power I could only dream about a few years ago.
