has anyone used the 8110 ?

Ive used a 2610 before and loved it

How does the 8110 sound in comparision ?

Is it based around the 610 ? Since its solid state Id say no . the 2108

Is closer but these are just assumptions .

Well if they are 2108 pres you seem to save 1350 by buying the 8110

over buying four 2108s .

Its not actually out yet--I'd say give it another week. There's a feature in the Webzine about it in the most recent issue, under \"Ask the Doctors\". The front end is similar to a 2108 (same transformer) and allows transformer saturation. The other amplifiers in the 8110 are custom op amps devleoped from the 2192 converter box. So the unit can go anywhere from super-hi-fi Milennia sounds, to UA's expected 'charater options'. Should be a hit!
