Ok so I've got 24 hours to make a purchasing decision and am totally confused now!

I was going to pick up the 1073, but the Helios is calling me also...what to do??

The Helios reviews so far are all from people doing rock or pop style stuff and I am trying to figure out which of the two would be better for electronic styles.

Any suggestion/comments or rants to help me clarify would be greatly appreciated.

I really feel you think. I was confusing so much this time.
I already have Neve EQs, and I tried test Helios69eq many times. I had never like this situation with UAD-1 plugins...

I'd say if you don't have 1073, I'm going to recommend buying 1073 because it can be covering wide range of sound type.
But if you already have 1073, it's worth to get Helios69eq too!
Especially if you'll want to make great MID freq sound.
The Helios69eq is really nice for adding warmth to MID range.
Also shaping HI freq cutting is making excellent result.

You're suggesting Helios for Electronic Style... I'm gonna say "Yes, it's great EQ for it too".
You should try to add Helios69eq and boost lowend freq to your KICK drum...
I think you'll like it. 8)
And, you should try to add it and boost MID freq to your PADs/synth...
It'll be changing amazing sound.

Both EQ are great, and excellent quality IMO.

It's one of the first UAD plugins where I cannot say at the first time \"yes\" or \"no\" ;) I'm not so impressed of the new Helios to put my credit card after 5 minutes on the table.

I would say, its a nice EQ but not really needed if you own the Neve 1073/1081. If you have the money on the table and there are no other wishes for UAD plugins I would buy the Helios. But its not a \"must have\" IMHO.

i do electronic music and i'd recomend both - but the neve first... killer on vocals and a lot of things... helios to sort out the mids...
