HELP! Plugins fails after adding 2 Extra-UADs to my Magma!

Hi,

i just added two extra UADs to my Magma Chassis. Now there are 3 UADs and 2 PoCo PCI inside that Magma.

Up to now i was working with a single UAD without a problem since day one.

After the Upgrade i installed the 4.3 software as well as i updated everything in \"my uaudio.com\" etc. I installed the new reg patch, everything seems to be fine, all 3 cards are listed correctly in the UAD Monitor etc.

But it is impossible to load more than just a few Plugins (DSP Load @ 15% or so) - there comes a Popup wich tells something about \"Plugin disabled because the DSP Card did not response)

It is impossible as well to open existing projects because most of the Plugins are disabled.

My Setup: Tyan S2895, Mamgma 7 Slot 32bit PCI Extension now filled with 3x UAD and 2x PoCo PCI (the old one). A PoCo FiWi is connected to the Tyan.

I am using Nuendo 3 and Wavelab 6.

Thanks for a quick response, i am in the middle of a project!

swapping cards around in the magma might help

Ok, i messed with my time for about 6 hours. Damn...

What i did:

First i swapped Cards in the Magma. No success.

I heard and read that PoCo PCI's and UADs in one Magma might be problematic. I never had issues with the 2 PoCos and the one UAD.

Anyway: I finaly put the 2 PoCo in the DAW, they fit well in the first and second PCI-X Slot of the Tyan S2895. (I first enabled the jumper J92 to slow down those two slots from 100MHz zu 66MHz).

Fortunatelly does the MoTu PCI 424 well in the third PCI-X Slot (133MHz) - I was afraid that this could cause problems.

Now i just had those 3 UADs in the Magma. Guess what? Nothing chanced, Plugins are getting disabled because \"the DSP Card doesn't respond\" .

Now i started to experiment with the UAD Meter Configurations. I tried different MIN_GNT settings - without any difference.

Then i messed around in the system info - i disabled/enabled single cards.

I found out that one single card never gets CPU/Ram load. I doublechecked by swapping card - finaly i just left that one card in the Magma - i was still not able to use it.

Now i just have the other two cards in the Magma and i am able to use about 99% of the DSP!!

It seems that the third card is broken, can that be possible??! Brandnew...

Btw: The nice sideeffect of that 6 hours rebooting Magma on/off session was: The complete system gained a little more headroom - because the two PoCo PCI are now on seperate PCI-Busses inside the Puter.

I was able to push a old project (wich maxed out everything) a little harder - without any crackle. All PoCos (2x PCI, 1x FiWi between) 90% and 95% DSP, VST Performance Meter in Nuendo @ 90% - UAD Meter (2x UAD) bouncing between 96%-99%.

140 Tracks of audio, 40 groups.

So - any idea about the third card??

thanks a lot,
brandy
