Hemisphere License isn't showing up

I'm very confused by the fact that, a) Hemisphere is supposedly free software, and b) it was included in my SC-1 purchase, and possibly my Apollo Twin purchase?

And yet, I can't load the Hemisphere plugin into the UAD Console app because it tells me I need to either purchase it or activate the demo. So I did the latter. But now it's been two weeks and the plugin is like "demo expired, k bye"

This system seems very broken to me.

Yeah I believe so, there's a screenshot attached so you can see how it shows up in UA Connect. I can see it in iLok too and it's registered to the computer I'm using. I can't be sure when the software was installed because I also bought an Apollo Twin X a couple months before and it installs a ton of plugins by default, but I'd expect that wouldn't matter since it's supposed to be literally freeware.

The plugin you're looking at with iLok and UA Connect refers to the UADx version (native) of the plugin that you can use in the DAW to process signals recorded with the mic dry.

To get the license for the Hemisphere DSP plugin, go to the UAD Meter & Control panel app (tiny black rectangle one), system info, plugins, authorise plugins. It will download the license onto your Apollo device which will allow you to use the plugin in Console.
