Hey 4.5, where'd my Fairchild Mono go?

Just downloaded 4.5 and the 1081. I've got four cards and all the plugs, so I know the drill. But now when I open a song in Cubase SX3 I get the following message:

\"The plug-in \"UAD Fairchild Mono\" could not be found for Insert...\" for each instance the plug had been set up. The insert slot where it had been previously listed now says !!! UAD Fairchild Mono !!! and it's listed under Missing Plugins\": !!! UAD Fairchild Mono !!! (grayed out).

Is it something I said?

OK, I see from an earlier post that it's been eliminated in the new version. Does that mean I have to uninstall 4.5 and reinstall 4.4 to copy down the settings in all my songs? :( :(

It hasn't been eliminated at all; it appears as usual here with 4.5 installed. Maybe try a re-install?

I get the same message, and I think they have changed something. Normally I dont have to install with the mono versions, but the Fairchild Mono has been included in the 'non mono' install aswell, but now it seems it's excluded if the mono option isnt selected.

Akis, I think you dont miss it , cause you installed all mono aswell??

If my memory serves me right, the Fairchild mono differs from the other mono version, as it serves a purpose for those apps that normally handle mono/stereo per default using the stereo version. (did that make any sense  :p )

Apparently this was eliminated in 4.4.1, no? I never upgraded to that, I went from 4.4.0 to 4.5.0

So what's the best way to recover all my previous track settings?

Opening a new Fairchild plug over the old insert only gives you a Default setting.

I'm having the same problem on a Mac. I suspect that it's the VST-Wrapper included in the UA install. Regardless, non of my sessions prior to UAD 4.5 will show up any mono plugs (cambridge, la-2a, etc).

Right now my only fix is to re-install 4.4.1 to get my recall back on those sessions...

To be honest, it was the first time I decided to install the mono versions, too, as I thought I might want to experiment with weird routings.

Run the installer again, and select the mono versions aswell.

(and I hope UA brings the Fairchild mono back in the 'non mono' installer, as I dont want/like having to install a bunch of mono versions I dont need (Cubase) )

Yes, that's it. Thank you, flynn. Just run the installer again right over the first install, just deselect \"Stereo Plugs\" and select \"Mono Plugs\".

And the lesson here is: Always triple-check anything before installing it :!:

Irritating!

Edit:

I just did some testing (Ableton Live 6) on a mono signal it makes a lot of difference using the mono plugins... for some of them (Fairchild, Cambridge) you get twice the number of instances.
