Hiss/Noise in UA Plugins Now - WTF???

Hello my friends! I feel like UA has snuck in noise to a ton of their plugins that wasn't there before and it's annoying, and you can't turn it off. Plugs like the La-2s, Fairchilds, etc. There are a ton that now have it. What gives? I'm using the UADx Natives mainly these days, which is where I am seeing this. Anyone else annoyed by this?

‘Snuck in noise’? Do you mean deliberately added hiss and/or hum? That seems a bit far fetched… Why would they do that?

I'm not hearing that at all. Just rechecked using the UADX LA2 and it's dead quiet on my system

No - ?
They are modeled from vintage hardware. Maybe you’re just becoming more sensitive to it.

Not having that issue here either on headphones or my Focal Twin 6 BE monitors.

So here's the UADx 660 with the input, output and HR all maxed out. See the Fabfilter below. Even with all settings maxed out, the noise is around -110dB, thus non-existent!

Careful you don't have the laptop mic open when you start your DAW. The default "new track" in Logic on my MacBook puts the laptop mic as the input (annoyingly).

Hey Scott!

When UADx came out I did A/Bs with a few vs the DSP versions and they nulled, but I'm interested in what you're hearing. You still hearing it, or was it something else?

The Studer A800 is the only UADx plugin I recall that actually adds noise, but it can be defeated in the extended settings panel.

I knew I wasn't crazy. Thank you
No one thinks you are crazy. It’s more that there are so many potential ways for noise to invade the signal path that are far, far (really far) more likely than that the UAD algorithms have added noise to them.

... and this is the native 660 at "normal usage" settings. The noise is down at below -140dBFS, thus once again absolutely inaudible

Can't say I've noticed any additional noise recently.

Some of the plugs, (like the LA2) are modeling a unit that is typically, pretty noisy compared to some others I suppose...
The real analog units that they've modeled, are generally a LOT more noisy than the plugin models in my experience.

No Noise here.... Maybe check your monitors.

Plus the Ampex. It has the noise option too.
It sometimes drives me crazy at the end of a mix when I have one or two instances where I forgot to deactivate noise.
