Hi Guys,

Although i've been a UAD user for a while now, i'm not sure how the sales pattern works. I was fortunate enough to be around for the last 20% off sale, sadly I had no money. :oops:

Fast forward a couple months, I have enough money to buy it all & NOTHING! :evil: :x

I want to get: Neve, Precision, Roland Bundles, 88RS, LA-3A & Helios (I've got everything else minus the Dreamverb <<<and honestly can't see myself buying it). :?

Anybody got any insider knowledge or inkling that something might be in the works? I mean man, I don't even think the multiple bundles sale is on anymore which was going to be my safety net... :cry:

Help me out please... All the best... :wink:

The sales pattern seems to go something like this:

Every month -- give or take -- UA releases a new Webzine that usually contains an article about whatever the next thing or two in the UAD assembly line will be. They talked all about the Helios console, then lo and behold next month's plug was the Helios EQ.

Every couple of months UAD customers will get a coupon in the mail for 20% off, or $75 off per card, or some other cool deal. The coupon most likely expires at the end of the month.

One week before the end of the month the new plug(s) will be released. This gives UA the most number of sales, since some people use the coupon right away on existing stuff, some people think they're not going to spend anything but \"maybe I'll check out that new plug...\" With one or two exceptions, first impressions of UAD plugs have been great so they make sure people have enough time to start the demos but not enough to talk themselves out of a sale ;)

I don't mean any of that to sound accusatory or bitter or anything, it's really the way it's gone for the last 6+ plugins. The point is to keep an eye on the Webzine for articles on products not already a part of the UAD. Those products will likely come out within a couple of months.

The promotions seem go quarterly, in which case you'll be out of luck for a while. Why didn't you go for the promotions that just ended?

Wow Chi, that was one hell of a breakdown!.. Really appreciate it. Might wanna re-think the vocational route, maybe a broker? LoL...

@Eric, that sucks! Aw well, the reason being I JUST got the cash. -Tears start to well- guess i'll just have to bite the bullet patience in not one of my virtues sadly...

just get one plug in. i find when i buy a couple at a time, i don't fully absorb myself in one.

buy one now, learn to use it well, then when you're ready for a couple more the next promotion will role along

That's not a bad tip. Get familiar with your gear piece by piece... (bought the new plugs without having touched the limits of the Neves + Helios which I authorized some time before - in the end any gear is just as good as your ability to use it!)
