How to match the levels for a stereo recording?

Hi.
One side is louder than the other, so, how do I adjust the levels for a stereo recording?
When I use a 180 version the levels seem closer but the sound character is very different to be considered as 2 identical mics in a stereo setup.
What should I do to make it imitate a stereo pair?
Thank you.

Set pre amps equal ( use stereo channel)
Face mic the correct way, capsules perpendicular to source. There is a double circle logo denoting the stereo centre.
Make sure the sound source is balanced left to right acoustically.

doing so should produce a more or less balanced level on the meters, and any variations to the acoustic stereo field should be directly represented in the meters.
Apply 180 plugin and choose mic model.

You can simply link both input channels in Apollo console and control both with just one preamp.

I think I got a defective one, because the front side (with the bullseye) sound so much lower in level than the other side, and when I place it with the stereo sign towards the source the side with the bullseye sound 2 times quieter than the other side. It shouldn't be like that, right?

first of all, at no point have you told us what mic you are using… kind of important in my view. But either way, assuming you are using an original sphere or a ‘DLX’ there is a calibration procedure, have you followed it?
