URS have just released to compressors modeled on SSL and Neve. If URS makes these compressors anyway near to quality of their modeled EQs then they will be really good. With each compressor you can choose to load versions with sidechain input

the only really working sidechain compressors i can work with are:

db-audioware compressor with 6 routable sidechain-channels, cheap compressor, but very useful and handy

creamware vinco (LN 1176 with sidechain) on the creamware scope professional dsp card

cheers

Does vinco work in XTC mode?

Some things don't work in XTC mode; Creamware doesn't even acknowledge on their site that XTC exists anymore.

I'm concerned specifically with Vinco, because the sidechaining aspect of it might be accomplished using the advanced signal routing functionality of the Scope Fusion platform, and not be applicable in XTC mode.

Do you know you can setup a side-chain-like setting in your sequencing softwares? (I only know how to setup a two-mono side-chaining setup, but not a two-stereo. Yet it's still very useful in the bass-ducking-kick situation.)

I'm not sure which compressor plugin you're talking about (or which sequencer)

Just send two mono signals into a stereo compressor, say bass on the left and kick on the right. The compressor will start to work when the kick is over the threshold. In the meantime the bass will be compressed too.

Then just keep the left channel (bass) and pan it center. Play the kick from its original audio track (the signal sent to the compressor was via an aux send of the original kick track).

Now you got the kick side-chaining bass, i.e. bass ducking kick effect.
