Importing hardware (GT The Brick preamp) from US to UK

I am try to buy Groove Tubes 'The Brick preamp' in the UK, but I am having problems finding an outlet for Groove Tubes.

I cannot find anything else of this pre quality for the price. I can buy with postage from the US for the sort of Uk price that they were seeling at last year, but I am unsure about paying extra costs once it arrives in the UK.

Is there anyone out there from the UK that has bought from the US? What are the import tax duties like, is it VAT that I will need to pay?

As UK is also an EU country, your customs duty is just the same as VAT. But the VAT is on the postage too.

VAT + 6% duty on something like the Brick, although it's worth noting for future reference that computer products are supposed to be duty free. I can talk to our UK distributor about getting one for you, if you like.
