Input knob on Apollo 8 (blackface) stuck on input 3?

I have a client who has an Apollo 8. The front panel input knob seems to be stuck controlling input 3. No matter how many times we press the knob, it still controls input 3.
I expect it to increment through controlling inputs 1-4. From the manual: "Channel Select Pressing the Preamp knob changes the currently selected preamp channel, which determines which input (1 – 4) is adjusted by the front panel preamp controls. A preamp channel is selected for adjustment when its Channel Select Indicator (#11) is illuminated. Each time the knob is pressed, the selected preamp channel increments to the next preamp channel. If stereo linking is active, the stereo pairs are selected."

I can control all channels normally via Console.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

In case it matters, the client mentioned that at some point they had tried to do a hardware reset when they were trying to diagnose another problem, (which actually turned out to be a misunderstanding).

Were they unable to do the hardware reset, or did it reset successfully? I'd do one just in case...
Also, make sure to open a ticket with UA's support. Maybe they'll have some things to check.

They said the hardware reset "worked", but it's hard to say since in that case the problem was a misunderstanding. In other words, nothing was malfunctioning.

In any case, in the next session, it sounds like another supervised reset wouldn't hurt.
