I'm a music producer splitting time between my home studio and the studio at the publishing company I work for. At home I'm running an Apollo Twin X Duo. At work we are running an Apollo X8 in tandem with an Apollo X4 linked via optical. The issue I'm having is that the input sensitivity doesn't seem to be the same on the X8-X4 rig as it is on my Twin X at home. I'm using a Kemper for guitar in both places with identical profiles and volume settings with the same instruments, but they are WAY hotter on the rig at work. As far as I can tell I'm using the same settings in Console. I have tried importing my channel strip/session presets from home, and I've also tried just manually replicating the settings on all the plugins in the chain. I've also tried removing all unison pres and plugins, and it's still coming in significantly hotter than I'm used to. I'm having to lower the output volume on the Kemper 15-20db to even get a signal that's remotely usable. I can't seem to use active basses in the HiZ inputs on the X8-X4 rig either because they are distorting no matter how low I set the input gain. I've figured out how to get guitar tones I can use, but it would still be nice to be able to use the same console presets in both places without having to spend time tweaking them every time. And the active bass issue is super annoying. I haven't been able to solve that problem at all yet. I have also noticed that mics seem to be hitting the unison pres much hotter as well, but this hasn't been as difficult to work around. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Is there some kind of input sensitivity setting in Console that I'm missing?
