I have 1 UAD-1 installed already, won another one of Ebay today and stopped at my local music store and bought a 3rd.. (tax refund time!! ) Should I install #'s 2 & 3 separately or can I do them both at one time? Thanks - Steve

Install Question

It would be best to install them one at a time, so that they are automatically recognized and installed by XP. However you can install them both at once, but if I remember correctly XP will only configure one...you will have to manually go through the add/remove new hardware wizard and tell the (#3) card to use the UA drivers. I have installed 2 at once before without problems but I did have to do it as I described.
Also it may be in your best interest to install one at a time anyway, in case you run into any PCI/IRQ/instability/etc trouble. Then you can be certain which card or which PCI slot is causing trouble. You probably will not have any problems like this but installing one thing at a time and testing before installing the next thing is a good methodology to get in the habit of using (especially if you are wiring a studio for power or audio!).

I know I'm talking to myself here, but hey, #3 installed today without a glitch! This was the card I won on ebay.. I installed it, powered up, got the Hardware ID and went to UA to 'Add Hardware'.. It told me the H-ID was already Registered.. The seller had sent the transfer info to UA via email too.. No problem though.. Called toll free support, explained what was going on and Brett there in support said, \"Oh yea, we have to load this into your System info\" so I gave him my User info and within 90 seconds, the 3rd card showed up on \"My Systems\" I D/L'ed the Authorization and I was good to go! And to think.. 3 months ago I was too terrified to open a computer case! :wink:
