I was tweaking some settings on the system and forgot to reboot my system after enabling busmastering in the control panel of my P750. I'm sharing an IRQ between one of the RME HDSP cards and the P750 on the AGP bus and if busmastering isn't enabled for the P750, it's crash city.Animixproductions said:I'm getting a lot of them, but I've got so many variables in this system, it's hard to point the finger at this until I do more testing. Still, since I loaded v4.3 I'm getting screen freezes requiring a hard reboot. Anyone else have this problem?
I was having freezes as well after installing UAD-1 4.3 but the reason was not the UAD-1 software. Together with the UAD-1 4.3 software I have installed the RME HDSP WDM Beta 9 drivers (hdsp_wdm_beta9.zip) with HW revision 16. After maxing out the system using the ASIO drivers I got random freezes without any BSOD. Reverting back to driver 2.94.3/HW15 cured the problem – no more freezes. The combination of driver 2.94.3/HW16 which should work has the caused the same freezes. Interesting though is the reduced Sonar CPU load by approx. 3% using i.e. 26-28 LN1176 @44.1kHz/16bit together with the Beta driver. This is very promising for the future final RME driver version.Animixproductions said:I'm getting a lot of them, but I've got so many variables in this system, it's hard to point the finger at this until I do more testing. I haven’t experienced this one because I’m not using the MS .Net driver. I’m using the Win2003 Matrox driver (xp2k_111_00_114_se_u.exe ) sans MS .Net technology within XP without problems.http://www.uaudio.com/support/software/UAD-1/technoteswin.html said:Systems with the Matrox P750 graphics card may experience a crash when using text entry with UAD-1 plugins.
Workarounds: There are two possible solutions:
A. Disable (untick) the "Save and restore windows positions" option in the "Desktop management" panel of the Matrox PowerDesk HF software. OR,
B. Remove the Matrox driver software and allow Windows to install default drivers for the Matrox graphics card.

From the UAD-1 homepage there is an advise regarding the use of the Matrox P750:
