Is it me or is the UAFX app the WORST!?

I’ve never known such a buggy app as the UAFX app. Surely, a company producing such incredible sounding pedals should be able to have a stable app!? I’ve got the Ox Stomp, Lion, Starlight and Dream and trying to connect to any of them is an absolute saga. I’ve never known anything so bad. Trying to simply open up a pedal on the app and it just asks me to restart. So I do. Still no connection. Delete pedal and re-sync. Still nothing. It’s utterly. Utterly. Hopeless.

You are right. It‘s very bad, maybe even the worst. And I‘m not talking connection issues. I‘m talking features and user experience.

We are all waiting for an upgrade.

UA is experiencing growth pains.

yes, very bad, as good as these pedals sound, the control app is a not fun to use. makes me even think about returning the pedals.
i still dont get why its that way, UA is properly experienced in coding plugins, applications and even a DAW, one might think a simple control and tool for preset organisation wouldnt be that hard to make, right?
perhaps it was done by an intern during the summer internship

hope they will release an properly desktop app via stable USB connection soon.🤟

As a longtime OX user, I can say with 100% confidence that the pedal app is likely to remain awful. I would be really surprised if they ever update it again. That didn’t stop me from ordering a Lion the other day, I just expect UA not to care about user experience or updates. Wireless connectivity for the OX has never worked reliably. The only solution I’ve found is to never turn it off. Once my OX dies I will probably replace it with something similar from another company, or maybe I just won’t replace it if this pedal is as good as people claim.

the lion is absolutely brilliant. I love them all for their tone… but I wanted to try out the different inputs on the lion (switch it to Jumped) which you only seem to be able to do within the app… tried for 20 mins to sort it and no luck at all. They are brilliant physical pieces of kit but the control is simply woeful

I always use my Lion with jumped channels. Try harder 😄

The app is outrageous. I own the four amp pedals and there I can live with the bad app, but for the OX Stomp the app absolutely kills my creativity flow. This app is an insult and wherever possible I warn potential customers of it.

Same here in regard to the amp pedals but I’ve avoided the ox stomp so far, precisely because of the app’s almost unanimous bad reviews. It seems like you really need it with the stomp. The amps, not so much. I only use it to save and access my own “user” presets.

It's infuriating to use. I have the 4 amps and Ox Stomp. Connecting to any one of is like playing the slots...... will it work? Too bad, loser, try again! Ooh, try rebooting your pedal.... Nope, better luck next time! Try restarting your phone! Oh, so sorry, better luck next time. Oh, and by the way, it's not the App, it's something wrong in YOUR environment! There are only a tiny, tiny number of reports of problems. Everything is fine. It's your problem. Care to try again, sir?

The sad thing is they've made these incredible sounding pedals, but their software integration is abysmal, and access to the full features of the boxes is occluded by it. That's some plan.

Sadly, OX users have been through this for years with similar response from UA.

I'm an OX owner too. The UAFX app makes the OX app seem almost competent by comparison. Almost.

As substandard as the apps may be, I’ve never seen anyone from UA whine about the negative posts or threads hurting sales or scaring off potential customers. I’m not saying they haven’t, I’ve just not encountered it.

I don't expect every user to read every thread but this is coming from a thread on this forum about a complain on the new support AI bot:

"Threads like this are in fact the consumers way of "checking" capitalism. Users post their thoughts, other (potential) users see it and use it to aid their buying decisions. Lots of posts/threads like this means less sales and new users."
Oh, you misconstrued my post. That post of course is all about empowering the user, not whining about them. Thanks for the opportunity to clear up this misconception.

Bend it the way you like as thats what UA is doing a lot. I see a pattern and thats fine. UA is not perfect, so there is work to do if you want to play with the big boys.
There is no bend. It was my post. I know what I meant.

It's fine, you did not have to write down that last statement, but you did and there is truth in it. The discussion in that thread continued and I did comment on that statement with some advice. Forget my advice, forget all the complaints, forget all the good intentions and suggestions from your customers as its all pointless. UA belongs to the big boys now, the big corporations who only care about money and making profit which is also fine. Back on topic...

What's your opinion about the app, is it the worst?
I'll not comment on your characterization of UA as everyone is entitled to their opinions and I know otherwise.

The app does what I need it to do, no problem. Is there room for improvement? Always!!
