Is It Possible To Have UAD-1 Work In 2 Apps At The Same Time

I like to run Samplitude -and- either Cubase or Wavelab together a lot.

They work -great- with my RME card (me love multi-client ASIO!)

However, the UAD-1s only seem to work in -one- program at a time. A message pops up saying something like, 'The UAD-1 plug is already in use by another program so give it a rest, pal.'

Is there a way I can have my cake and eat it too? (ie. get UAD-1 plugs to function properly in two programs at the same time?)

JC - it is a good question and one I suspect for the inestimable UA support bods. Have you tried them?

Certainly can't think of a UAD setting that might allow this. Maybe it just can't be done?

I'd love this feature too!

I run Acid Pro Rewired to Cubase and can only use UAD-1 plugs in one or the other. Not that much of a big deal if you set up individual out from Acid to appear in Cubase but it would still be nice.

Actually, that is helpful. I tend to forget that they have a handy dandy 800 number when I'm in the states.

So I called them and the tech guy said that this was one of the oldest and most harped on requests that they get. He called it a 'high priority'. :roll:

Of course the thought went through my head, 'yeah, I used to say crap like that to get customers off the phone.'

I'm holding my breath.

But at least I cast my vote with the powers that be.

PS: He said something else which I found interesting. When I started talking he must've thought I was going in a different direction because he said, 'Yeah that can cause real problems.' And when I asked him exactly what he meant by that he said, 'You know... tracking with UAD plugs.'
