wtf! still no replys?

heya toystein, i'm gonna wait with the praise and try to be a bit constructive this time...

i'd skip the hihat delay at 00.20 and switch to 8/8's on the hihat to get more \"go\" in the drums.
then at some 1.17 i'd bring ithe hh echo back since you're taking it down a bit.
in other words: keep the hh echo in the intro and the 1st chorus.
then at 1.37 bring back the hh 8/8's. and keep 'em going all the way.

i don't know.. there's something about the melody in the phrase \"catches up too quick\".
it sounds.. too easy? you know, like the easiest way to go.

the fact that everything but some bass is only keyboards sounds just charming!
you've managed to keep a listeners' interest despite all electronic sounds.

soundwise it sounds exactly as it should, there something about the song and the sounds used that make one \"forgive\" just about everything, i got in a kind of \"ok this is how this song sounds\" -mood at once.

simple and relaxing but still a strong 'feelgood' feeling about it.
btw, did i hear a bit of eels in there?

(insert 10 more superlatives of your own choice here) ;)

btw 2:
kudos to you for \"Do U want 2 HOAST\"!

Hey Snipe - I'm all for constructive, negative, crushing and goodness. It all makes me work harder, especially the less than pleasing comments.
I like your ideas on the hi-hats - I'm going to have to go back and remix certain parts and adjust certain parts, I'll try what you suggested.

Yes, this song is pretty predictable, kind of basic in a way. Actually very basic and considering most of it is electronic sounds it walks a fine line. I don't think I pulled it off 100% - I'm glad you dug the vibe.

Everything was done a year and a half ago, I've feel I've evolved from that time, but it was fun and good to know that I finally finished it. Well almost... lol

thanks

Hey Toy, it's funny you said you did this song a while ago. My initial feeling was, although I like the song, I felt it wasn't as mature as your other songs.

As always, I love the sound of your voice. You have the \"cool\" thing going on! I agree with Sniper about the hi hat. Also, Is it a bit loud compared to the rest of the drums?

That being said, I'm digging on it. Not every tune has to try to blow you away. It's nice to just chill with it.

Toystein - Just had a browse through your tunes. To my ears \"Race Cars\" is clearly the best. You have a great voice and vocal sound which cuts through beautifully on all of your tracks

Thanks matt - This was the first song I recorded (if I can call it a recording) back in march of 2003. Maturity is a good way of putting it into perspective. I was going to put this on my collection but decided against it. I don't know If I'll go back to the mix but I'd like to try the hihat ideas.

again thanks for the time and listen, I think I'll chill for a little bit. 8) Not too long though. lol
