Hi
i wanna do some \"tests\" between various compressors.
ive searched everywhere on UA's site and didnt found anything about these compressors Ratio, Attack, Release which makes it a bit difficulte to compare them to other compressors.
Does anyone know this bit of information or where should it be written?

thnx.
Stomper.

im not wanna compare just to each other, but to fairchild, 1176 and maybe other native plug-ins.
i want to see what the diffrences between them. which one is make more pumpin sound, which more tight so i could decide which for drums which for bass ect.

I think I know what you mean, but... I think that's not possible, because

some compressors have a rather \"complicated\" behaviour (e.g. fairchild with setting 5 or 6 -> programm dependend behaviour) and some compressior have a rather simple detector, attack, ratio, threshold... and that's it... So how do you compare a programm dependend to a non programm dependend? It's sad but true, you have just your ears.

Some compressors have an additional saturation. That means you adjust the ratio to 4:1 for example, but in fact you hear more than 4:1 because of additional sound behaviour (tubes, lundahl-converters, transformator...etc.).

Don't get me wrong: I would like to have a clear possibility for an easy comparison, too. But I came to the conclusion, that's not that easy. And additionaly I get confused with possiblities sometimes, because sometimes I get good results with chaining different compressors. But when, wich, on what? If I have not enough time, I have to use \"rules of thumbs\".

Greetings
